The Middle Office at Treasury and Investment has been established under the Bank’s re-engineered Organogram. The Middle Office is an integral part of the Treasury & Investment function of the Bank and as a risk monitoring component, reports to the Head of Risk Management Division.

The Mid-Office (department) monitors, reviews and reports Counter Party Limits, Dealer Limits, Net Open Position, Currency SWAPs, Sale/Purchase of currencies, Nostro etc. The Department highlights risks associated with investment in different areas and suggests diversification of Bank portfolio for the purpose of mitigation of risk factors. The Department also runs periodical performance analyses of Treasury and Investment, ensuring compliance of Circulars/Guidelines issued by the State Bank of Pakistan/SECP and observations of the internal and external auditors.

The Department also monitors Market Risk, Liquidity Risk and the Operational Risks at Treasury. The Department closely coordinates with the Risk Management Division for all risk related projects e.g. Risk Mapping, Stress Testing and the implementation of Basel II standards. The Mid-Office prepares reports for the critical information of Senior Management as well as Bank’s ALCO (Assets & Liability Committee).
